How do you rally a student body to share their financial struggles? By turning a heavy topic into an approachable, action-driven campaign.

As Director of Campaigns for the OCAD Student Union, I spearheaded Money Matters—an initiative to gather critical data on students' financial wellbeing and identify the communities facing the greatest challenges. At the heart of the campaign was an upbeat, catchy video I produced to promote the survey. It struck a chord with students, driving enough engagement to collect a statistically representative sample of 18% of the student body.

The outcome? A clear understanding of students' financial wellbeing, which led to the creation of targeted bursaries and scholarships for 2SLGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities.
